Mica sheets contain approx. 90% mica powder mixed with approx. 10% epoxy resin that is processed into sheets.

Mica can resist operating temperatures up to 1000°C. The sheets are available in a number of variants, such as with a flexible structure or with nail gusset support. The type chosen depends on the application.

In addition to its resistance to high temperatures, mica has the advantage of having good mechanical and electrical insulating properties.

Mica seals are used in a wide range of industries, such as:

  • Automobile industry (exhaust manifold), petrol and oil, chemical and petrochemical, medical, energy cells, gas turbines and turbo generators.
  • For applications with a higher pressure load, the gasket can be fitted with a Bördel/Eyelid.
  • It is even possible to use mica as a filling for spiral wound gaskets or as a covering for CAM profiles.
