Reliable seals and gaskets
Semi-metallic seals are made of a composite of metallic and non-metallic materials. The metal constituent is intended to provide strength and resilience, whereas the non-metal constituent has greater deformability and better sealing properties.
Commonly used semi-metallic seals include spiral-wound, kammprofile gaskets and a wide variety of graphite gaskets reinforced with metal. There are semi-metallic seals for almost all process conditions, including high-temperature and high-pressure applications, and they are typically used with raised-face, male/female and tongue/groove flanges.
